Berryz工房のニューシングル「雄叫びボーイ WAO! / 友達は友達なんだ！」が3月3日に発売される。

ハロー！プロジェクト所属の7人組女の子アイドルグループ・Berryz工房の通算22枚目のニューシングルが登場。前作シングル「私の未来のだんな様 / 流星ボーイ」と同じく、今回も両A面シングル仕様となっている。「雄叫びボーイ WAO!」は、テレビ東京系6局ネットTVアニメ『イナズマイレブン』新エンディングテーマとして既にオンエア中だ。

今回の両A面シングル、テーマは「力と絆」。「雄叫びボーイ WAO!」は、「戦う彼奴らの雄叫び」「スパークボーイ！すごいパワーを生み出そうぜ」といった力強い歌詞が印象的。歌唱法も、これまでのBerryz工房の楽曲ではあまり見られなかったような新境地を聴かせてくれている。もう一方の「友達は友達なんだ！」は、爽やかで春らしいヒップホップサウンドに乗せて歌われる友情賛歌に仕上がっている。

シングルは4種仕様でのリリース。それぞれプロモーションビデオの別バージョン収録DVDや『イナズマイレブン』アニメカード等が付属してくる。また、初回生産限定盤A～Cの3種にはイベント抽選シリアルナンバーカードが封入。応募して抽選に当たると、Berryz工房のスペシャルイベントに参加できる。4月4日（日）は神奈川・横浜BLITZ、4月11日（日）は大阪のエルシアターで開催。ちなみに4月4日はメンバーの菅谷梨沙子の16歳の誕生日でもある。

また、シングル発売日の翌週の3月10日には「雄叫びボーイ WAO!」のプロモーションビデオを収録したシングルDVDも発売。さらに3月31日には6枚目のオリジナルアルバム『6th 雄叫びアルバム』のリリースも控えている。

今回のシングルの発売日である3月3日は、Berryz工房のデビュー6周年の記念日でもある。3月27日にはタイ・バンコクでの海外コンサートも決定しているなど、ワールドワイドに活躍する彼女たちに今後も目が離せない！
